( e t r e ) & Harps of Fuchsia Kalmia are a projects of the experimental musician Salvatore Borrelli. After a first experimental phase dedicated to total improvvisation, fields recordings & sonorous installation, ( e t r e ) starts to develop an unusual patchwork between sound-texture, post-digital, glitchtronica & drone music and works with different typologies of media manipulated in real/time: neon, turntable, ice, glass, fire, colours & chemical substances, robots, radios, metals, ethnic instruments. He studies a doughy mixture between abstraction & free-form with a particular approach that consists to produce a stratification to not correspond at primary element, in a constant relation between origin & becoming, ralativity of intact forms & complexity of treated body. The result is a chaos-approach based on different "old" methods and "new" types of re-combinations, doing an electronic between harsh noise, minimalism, improvisation & electroakoustic. During his performances ( e t r e ) uses complex patches and solutions, extending the criterion of total improvisation in extemporaneous way and also passing through the electronic search and the praxis of the body. He develops also a special type of sound called wall-recording : a sound result directly from the auscultation of the walls with some contact-microphones installed directly inside the walls with electric drill & lime.
Salvatore Borrelli is been involved in an extemporaneous avant-folk music project Wondrous Horse with the american Vanessa Rossetto (Catrider, Pulga, Bright Duplex, Hwaet). That is the first embryo of his combination of electroakoustic elements & avant-folk approach. With this "duo" he has recorded the work "Cavallo Meraviglioso" on Fire Museum Records based on Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Harps of Fuchsia Kalmia is his last creature. A weird-folk, avant-folk-forest or Psych-Folk project started in 2006 after the long phase as (etre). Entirely made in direct way, without processing or other options of disturbing... Harps of Fuchsia Kalmia is a mist of "pure breath", "black-black", a "transatlantic journey between ruins of bluesgrass, avantgarde & improvisation" or a "new form of rural psychedelia", a sort of meeting between Fingerpicking, Urban Psych-geography and Interiors, a trans-urban vision of mystic, dead times, and another approach to psycho-akoustic-folk. Salvatore Borrelli uses two hands
